Taiwanese insurer Cathay Life commits $80m to Clayton Dubilier & Rice fund

Cathay Life Insurance, the insurance subsidiary of Taiwanese conglomerate Cathay Financial Holdings, has agreed to commit $80 million to the latest fund of New York private equity firm Clayton Dubilier & Rice.

According to the insurance company’s regulatory filing, the commitment is for Clayton, Dubilier & Rice Fund XII LP, a $20-billion PE fund that has so far raised $10 billion in just about four months since its launch.
