RTHK has learnt that a four-year-old girl, who was allegedly assaulted and had more than 10 bruises on her body, was in critical condition on Sunday.

Her mother, 38, was arrested on suspicion of neglecting or abusing children under her supervision.

It is understood the girl was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital unconscious after her older brother found her in the bathtub at their Kowloon City home on Saturday.

The hospital reported her condition to the police after finding around 11 bruises on her upper body, back and limbs.

The girl was placed in the intensive care unit.
